OLC DISCUSSION BOARD REGULATIONS
The objective of OLC-Discussion Board: is to bring together our resources; time, energy, knowledge, and money, to discuss with each other, as to how we can further advance our struggle in a coordinated manner. This discussion board is designed to serve as a vehicle for a decent discourse in searching for a viable means that will ultimately carry out our national liberation struggle to its final goal. Thus, it is the responsibility of each member of the Discussion Board to discuss genuinely in a decent and matured way among our selves to come up with better ideas that lead us to common understanding. To achieve the envisioned objective of the discussion Board, OLC Discussion Board management puts forward the following rules and regulations to which all members of the discussion board must adhere!
- Oromos who want to become member of the Discussion Board, should fill up the membership form by giving their real name and address. After self-registering, the individual gets immediate reply that his/her application is received. In order to get a final approval, the applicant who fills up the membership self-registration form of the Discussion Board, must summit a reference (another Oromo who knows him/her) by providing the reference person's real name and address including (e-mail) during filling up the registration form. The OLC Discussion Board management, after examining carefully the submitted application will send its final decision through the submitted address, whether the applicant is accepted as a member or not.
- The discussion on the OLC Discussion Board is in English and Afaan Oromo.
- The OLC Discussion Board management puts forward topics for discussion as it fits necessary.
- Respecting and following the Oromo code of conduct (Safuu) is mandatory;
- It is prohibited to go out of the discussion topic.
- To defame, belittle, falsely accuse each other, and carry out any sort of character assassination on any one is absolutely forbidden on the Discussion Board;
- Un substantiated or non-factual statements/presentations will not be tolerated on the Discussion forum.
- It is expected of the members of the Discussion Board to have tolerance for difference of opinions during any discussion. The individual who generates the idea has the sole responsibility for the idea he/she posted on the discussion board; However, ideas that are against the objectives of our struggle for independence or against the unity of Oromo people and Oromiyaa are also against the objective of Gumii Discussion Board. Therefore, such ideas will not be presented on the discussion board.
- It is an obligation to respect the rules that are mentioned above as set forth by the management of the Discussion Board. If a member violets these rules repeatedly, he/she will loose his/her membership rights of the Discussion Board on the third infraction.
- To transfer or forward materials of Oromo concern from OLC discussion board to others that are against the Oromo interest is strictly forbidden.
- All members of the discussion board are obliged to follow rules and regulations that will be put forward by the management of the OLC Discussion board in the future in order to run the discussion program more efficiently.
